This avalanche happened in the backcountry, not on a resort property. Resorts do a ton of avalanche control, but can not do avalanche control in areas they have no jurisdiction over. For areas next to resorts there are gates with 100 warnings about the avalanche danger and people still take the risk. [/quote]
