Again, ok. No one’s saying Patriot district isn’t fast.

The comment was trying to address the PP who was complaining that the Patriot district was so fast that their swimmer didn’t make regionals 4 years in row. My comment was only to say that the rules try to accommodate for those situations by having cut times. That’s all.

If the swimmers’s time was so fast, hopefully they were still able to complete in regionals via a time cut.[/quote]

My kid has state cuts (and has in the past), but every year kids that swim for let’s say West Springfield or Falls Church, they can make even states with very slow times compared to the kids in the regionals. It’s not really fair. Same for regionals. We have seen kids who wouldn’t even be 16th at our district become top 3 at regionals.[/quote]

This isn’t true. We swim National and my swimmer would have placed top 8 at States but didn’t make it because our Regionals is so strong. Sure, National is weak but VHSL Occoquan Region 6C is fast. The cuts for States are harder for our region than the rest of Virginia. Thats not fair. [/quote]

I do not understand your comment. State cuts are state-wide, not based on region. If your swimmer is so strong, they are making the State cut and it has nothing to do with the Region (yes Regions have their own rules on the top XX swimmers (usually 5) are automatic bids).  In our region, we have seen the T10 swimmers all make State cuts in the past.
