I don't make it a regular habit, but there have been occasions when I tossed the poop bag into a dumpster or full trashcan that was left out for pickup. I have not felt any regret for doing it. And for those saying they are calling the police, I hope if you do, you at least call the non-emergency number and not 911. I'd also like to know their response when you call. Thanks.
So if your neighbor’s trashcan had already been emptied, you would just hang on to the poop bag until you got home?
Yep. Correct. One thing if the trash hasn't been picked up yet. Another if it has been emptied. Weird quirk, but true. And for the 911 caller that wasn't sure if it was a bomb or a bag of dog poop, I'm still curious of the response that is expected. Have you done this? Yes, there was a nefarious looking man in joggers and a vest with a big slobbery lab. He dropped something in my trashcan. I think it might be a bag of dogpoop, but it may be a bomb. Please send help right away!
I'm that PP and the response that I would expect is the police coming over, me sharing a video of some lazy assh0le putting stuff in my bin (private property) and investigating what it actually was. I am more than fine with the police going over to the said assh0le's house to ask him why he is doing that. If they can act entitled, so can I. If they can respond to drug addicts and loiterers, they can respond for this too.
My trash bin has large writing that says “property of Fairfax County.” And police can go through your curbside trash cans without a warrant. I want to assure you the police don’t give a sh*t (no pun intended) about a person putting a single poop bag in your curbside trash can. They don’t give a sh*t about way more serious offenses.
I don't know what you're putting in there. Might as well be a bomb. Yes, they very much care about that. My trash can is my property and if someone steals it or damages it I'm on the hook for the cost of the new one. So it is very much private property. I'm sorry that you think your shitty behaviour has no impact on anyone else, but it does. If you haven't learned that lesson yet, I'm happy to have the police explain it to you.
Please call. Record. Upload to social media so we all can watch this unfold.
I already said I record everywhere on my property. Why wouldn't I? It prevents a lot of assh0le behavior since everyone is aware they are on camera :)
