I mean, there are some really cynical efforts to smack down OP's post. Why? If it doesn't resonate with you, go away already. This posting is not for you.
It always amazes me. It’s not like I spend lots of time on the food board trying to convince people not to eat something. It doesn’t matter to me. If you truly feel that God doesn’t exist — then why waste your time responding to posts here? It should be the most irrelevant thing in your life, especially in a country where there is no official state religion. Or is it that deep down, the knowledge of God is written on everybody’s heart, exactly like Paul says in Romans 1, and spending hours and hours on an internet message board with all these snarky comments is an attempt to convince yourself otherwise?
Or is it that deep down, you know it is a ridiculous fantasy, like Christopher Hitchens wrote in The God Delusion, and spending hours and hours on an internet message board with all these snarky comments is an attempt to convince yourself otherwise?
As a former atheist, I can most definitely say that this is not the case for me. I do enjoy answering questions about local churches etc for people and trying to offer a view of a midlife convert that can be appreciated, even if not agreed with.
