Some of these “street soccer” programs love to hype the play free and play with friends but then start adding “$20 dm for location” posts and then show up at a basketball court somewhere. We care about the kids but only charge $20 to care about them.
Bethesda charges $50 for free play with s--- competition. At the "street soccer" program we play with, sometimes we pay $20. Sometimes $10. Sometimes free. It all depends on the cost of securing the location. But the kids are all MLS Next/ECNL from the best clubs in the area. The policies of "street soccer" is more a test of your character and they weed people out who are the source of club "politics." The ballers in the area don't require turf fields and goals to get busy. A tennis court and some cones will still allow them to get busy.
Is the value prop organized free play with other skilled kids? I know of kids who go and was just curious. Why would it cost $20 per person to play on a free outdoor tennis court?
How much would it cost you to assemble 20-30 top MLS NEXT/ECNL kids for your kid to play with? How much time would it take for you to search for available facilities to play? For one, we have never played on a tennis court but I know some organizations that do and you are referencing those organizations. If we ever did, as long as the kids are there, my kid would not care.d I don't knock them if the kids are having fun, we can play in an alley. However, I know my hourly rate for running my business and $20 is well below the effort of meeting and organizing 20-30 MLS NEXT/ECNL kids for pickup and then coordinating available space that may be occupied unless it is reserved with the city/county or somebody gets there early to lay claim. It is at least 20-30+ hours of accumulated work and at least 2 hours of specific work for each session. I know my hourly rate is waaaay above $20/hour. You have a basic disrespect for people's time which is why I would reiterate, you are the source of club "politics."

Is the value prop organized free play with kids who are good at soccer? I know of a few kids who have gone and was just curious.
