Bates is a great school academically. But the location is a dump and the facilities are mediocre for the price tag. I was ACTUALLY stunned into silence when we were there at how much of a pit the town is and how sad the campus was.[/quote]

How about staying silent and not making posts full of such hyperbole. The town is admittedly not great. But it is not a "dump." That is ACTUALLY a fact.

I hope your kid is smarter than you because based on your tone and writing style, you are not very bright. Your tone and syntax is awful and you seem to have an issue with angst and a real chip on your shoulder. Given your lack of intellect I am surprised that a place like Bates is even on your radar. Did your car break down while driving through? Or did a Bates alum doing something bad to you?
