Geometry is not being "eliminated" per se, it's being integrated into the two algebra courses, supposedly.

Well, they are definitely eliminating content, not just from geometry but also from algebra. They are not condensing 3 years of material into 2 (such as with compacted math); they are eliminating material and moving at the same pace as an on-grade level course. There is no acceleration. So, that means that students who want to be headed to calculus need to figure out how to make up that content (unless MCPS adds another course before the current pre-calculus course).[/quote]
