my kid is at yale and went to one of the most rigorous private high schools. he's studying his ass off.

any kid, at any college, can skate through.  you pick your classes, your professors, your major. and if you want to take the easiest road, it's available to you. or you can make other choices.  I can honestly see the benefits of either way, assuming kids who are not going to classes are taking advantage of other things happening on campus instead, not just drinking and scrolling [/quote]

No, my kid is not taking easy classes, did not pick their professors, is actually taking an extra class over many peers and many peers are not doing well.  The ivies who was unexpected. must vary because this is their experience and it was unexpected.  [/quote]
