Gets those kids of screens at school. Too many teachers are using you tube and other videos to teach the children. I witnessed this myself while volunteering for Spanish special class at our local ES. [/quote]

He will probably need a phone just to get that job.   I have 4 kids that are now in their late teens-mid 20's, and ALL of them texted with their manager about schedules, onboarding/training and stuff in their first jobs  before they got their first paycheck.
Actually, even the type of phone can matter. One of them had a job at a fast food restaurant that was just opening.  The restaurant hadn't opened yet, and they hadn't started training or anything, and he went a couple weeks without hearing anything.   Finally he reached out to the manager and apparently she had been sending on all the updates on a group text with the other employees, but she was using iphone messenger, and my son had an android, so he wasn't receiving them.
