You'd have to finance which might be tricky if not a lot of credit history, or buy outright but nothing very unusual about a young person not having 15k+ for a car. And depending on where op is, public transportation may not be a possible solution. I'm more surprised about the ds not having money for food, the op saying she expects her ex to pay for stuff but she has the same amount of money and will not help, the ds coming so late at night...[/quote]
