So when your daughter told you that she was going to a party at a classmate’s house, you didn’t think the kids would be drinking? You need to live in the real world. Talk to your kid so they make good choices. We didn’t allow ours to even go to parties until 10th grade. They talk to us openly about what happens at the parties, including kids getting drunk. Parties are part of growing up. Kids can learn to party responsibly.
I know kids sneak out and go to parties with alcohol. They have underdeveloped frontal lobes and make bad choices. The parents who host these parties, on the other hand, should really know better.
So yell at your kids for sneaking out. We also warn our kids about adult predators and grooming. Their frontal lobes aren’t so underdeveloped they can’t be held accountable for making bad choices.
Stop providing alcohols to children. It’s against the law.
So are child predators. But who yells on DCUM and thinks they’re changing anyone? I don’t provide alcohols to children. But the anti-alcohol parents on these threads are morons.
Why are you posting on DCUM, my dear?
Zing! Now people are listening to you. The parents providing alcohol will suddenly care what you’re saying. They’re going to stop now.
So you've chosen to go on an online forum, the purpose of which is to let people rant anonymously, but instead of ranting anonymously about something, you have decided to rant anonymously about people who are ranting anonymously about something. This is so meta that I am actually impressed. :D
Go ahead and ponder that as the rest of us leave the forum. Bye!
You know you can't look away! Anyway, back to the point. If someone allows this in their own home and takes care to make sure nobody is totally trashed, nobody is sexually assaulted, and everyone gets home safely in an Uber (though this is not great either, because we all know there are cases where drunk people were assaulted by drivers who took advantage of the situation), then I guess I think these "more careful" parents are better than the other parents who turn a blind eye and let chaos ensue so kids indulge unwittingly in date rape, or get into car accidents. But I'm still going to judge you unless you have the consent of the parents of all the kids you serve alcohol to. I definitely know adults with alcoholism that started in their teens, and it was enabled by other parents.
I mean to write, "indulge in or unwittingly become victims of date rape."
