It's such a standout and beautiful work. I also read "Tinkers" by Paul Harding this year, and they both struck me as profound in similar ways. Maybe it's the idea of how humans are connected to one another and their environment over time and place . . . books like these always speak to me. I lost my mom recently, and reading both of these books has really helped me process my grief and be able to think about how an individual life, though fleeting, is part of a much bigger picture.[/quote]
