It’s about putting in place a dynamic where a grandparent’s time and energy are so overwhelmingly monopolized by one grandchild- ie to the extent that it is their full time job- that the other grandchild and family end up becoming increasingly marginalized and distanced as a direct (if inadvertent) result.
