I was shamed in 8th grade for trick or treating. I was a late bloomer and still felt very young. It was really upsetting to me. Anyone who comes to my door in costume is welcome to candy. It’s just cheap candy, let’s not make it all precious.
Same. I was 13 and out with 3 friends. An old woman screamed at us that we were too old and slammed the door in our faces. It has stuck with me for years. So I give candy to everyone.
Ugh im so sorry for the both of you. I too, was a "young" middle schooler, thankfully, i don't remember adults giving my friends and i a hard time. I really just wanted to still be a kid and enjoy my childhood. Thats what kids should do.
