Ok guys. I hate Trump more than anyone on this planet. But I think we should go easy on Kai. She is only 18. Grifting is the only life she has ever known. She likely thinks it’s normal. As far as I know, she wasn’t trying to sell it on the WH lawn. She simply wore it. Maybe I am mistaken about that though. Honestly, if she wants to try selling an overpriced sweatshirt, that’s her business. I only knew it was her brand from sm. I thought it was the logo for her college or something. That said, it is certainly odd that the design she chose is just her name/initials on a white sweatshirt. She is not even a household name. Why would anyone want that? Someone obviously told her that the Trump name will sell. Any grown-arse person who buys this shirt just because they are in her grandpa’s cult is seriously weird though. If she has built a name among young golfers, then that is her demographic. No biggie. Also, I think every girl who grew up in Trump’s presence deserves a bit of a break. It is not fair to advocate for the Epstein victims without acknowledging that he uses the same playbook to control and manipulate the females in his own family.
Oh wait. Now I see that she used the WH as a backdrop on her website. That’s pretty bad. But still. I’m not sure an 18 year old would realize how inappropriate that is.
18 is an adult, isn't that what MAGA says? An adult launching a business has an obligation to know the laws that apply to that business, no?
I’m appalled by these grifters, but what law did she break? I don’t think what she’s done is illegal. Her grandfather, as a federal employee, probably violated a federal ethics regulation, but that’s small potatoes for that felon.
1. Section 5 of the FTC Act prohibits unfair or deceptive acts and the Made in USA Labeling Rule (16 CFR Part 323). so if she is labeling her stuff made in the USA and it isn't that's illegal. 2. A private company generally cannot use US government symbols, logos, or names in advertising because it implies government endorsement, which is illegal and often also violates trademark laws and federal regulations. 18 U.S. Code § 713.
Hopefully someone will pursue this.
