Exactly. Taking IB + Arts away from Einstein is just ridiculous.
How popular is the IB program at Einstein? MCPS has a finite amount of money. They should use it wisely, and that means not supporting unpopular programs.
LOL this whole proposal is unpopular but MCPS is going to spend all the money doing it anyway. Watch Taylor peace out to a new job as soon as this the regional model is in place. He’ll take credit for setting it up, then run off before he has to deal with the problems it will create, just like he did in Stafford County.
That's an interesting perspective and could be likely... I just don't get where the money is coming from. Has the county council secretly agreed to more funding or what is he/MCPS/BOE willing to cut to make this happen? He's pretty tone-deaf to go ahead with this plan when very few are excited over it, and no one agrees with getting rid of the DCC. Then again, he's in his plush office wearing MCPS-paid-for logo clothing while students and staff are in buildings with mold and ceilings falling...
That's why I don't understand why BOE is pretty indifferent about this after the heated debate after the first sharing of the plan back in July or August. Then BOE quiets down completely, showed little interests and not even ask for updates anymore. Are they trying to designate the veto right to county council?
