It will not be long before the Democrats are back in power and the broadcast licenses of Fox, Newsmax, OAN, etc. are threatened.  When the Heritage Foundation and the American Enterprise Institute are subjected to withering investigations.

I have also lived in a number of authoritarian countries, including two that were democracies but went through a period of right-wing dictatorship (supported by the US government, but that's another story). While no authoritarian regime/dictatorship acts or looks exactly the same, some of the key elements are present in all cases. Silencing or intimidating the press and the media [b]in support of the ruling party or leader's interests[/b] is a key element all authoritarian regimes share.  [/quote]
