there's no doubt that uchicago would be a lay up. but if the kid doesnt want to go there, and the counselor isn't hearing that, then it's bad advising. not every kid wants to go to "the best possible school with my profile" or the "safest possible with my profile"[/quote]

More typically, it’s the parent not liking the schools suggested by the cc and coming here hoping to hear better ranked schools.  My guess Chicago was the highest ranked of the schools suggested by cc and op wants “better.”    Op , of course, can come back and provide more context.[/quote]

OP what kind of context? doesnt want "grinder" culture of Chicago (and Swat). open to many others. would rather be full pay at a t50 or a place that gives merit below. [/quote]
