They need to stop chasing new technology every single year. Find some good communication tools and stick with them.
parent square bought remind. MCPS didn't have a choice there.
They had a chance to send out a message in early August giving parents a heads up about Parent Square, instead of the message they did send in August trying to excuse their failures on background checks.
They've been sending out messages via ParentSquare since October 2024.
Okay? This is the first time I've heard of it or needed to download the app.
I'm just saying they've been sending messages on the platform for 10 months, and the messages have a View in ParentSquare button at the bottom, along with links to download the app if you so choose.
Who looks at the sender of these automatic emails? If MCPS cared about the quality of its communications, it would clearly send out a message before the beginning of the school year explaining which apps parents need to download and for what purpose. I read MCPS communications pretty carefully and had no idea I needed to download parentsquare until I read it here. MCPS comms needs to do their job better.
Umm MCPS did send out a message about parent square before the start of the school year. Just because DCUM or some other parents were ahead of the communication doesn’t mean the comms team didn’t do their job. Some of ya’ll forget that school system are registering new kids and families well into August, heck September. And most people aren’t paying attention in July. So it doesn’t make a lot of sense to send communication about Parent Square until closer to school beginning.
