from the local listserv...so it was thieves cruising the neighborhood to steal from cars, a crime the DC Police Department and DC Attorney do not care about..and then people get shot "Hi everyone This is what I know from first accounts: 1. At approximately 3 am a ring cam showed three people trying unsuccessfully to break into a car parked at a house on CBR across from Battery Kemble park. The ring cam photo has been provided to police 2. The trio that was followed by a gray or silver car went a few houses uphill on the street - apparently deciding or having decided to break into another car(s) and home on CBR in which the family was home. (Whether or not the burglars knew that they family was home is unknown to me) 3. A private security guard stationed in front of the newly purchased and quite expensive home at 3030 CBR saw the three going towards the neighbor’s house and confronted them. I believe he did so by asking something along the lines of “can I help you.” One or more of the three burglars fired on him, and he fired back. 4. The security agent was released from the hospital but sustained at least an injury to his face. 5. The family in the targeted house are physically unharmed. 6. As far as we know, the three armed burglars and whomever was driving the car are still at large. 7. In my opinion, we should all check our security and ring cam systems to see if we can provide additional images. 8. Personally, we upgraded our already relatively intense security system today, and like our neighbors, we are redoubling use of our alarm systems. We will personally be using them day and night for the foreseeable future.
