Grandparents who saw their kids go to Ivies May wonder why their grandchildren with better grades/activities aren’t applying or getting in. I went to a SLAC and my parents wondered why my kid wasn’t interested/applying. (Because my kid faced much steeper odds of getting in). I would just tell them it’s a lot harder now and leave it at that. Fortunately they were familiar enough with the places where my kid did apply and get in, and were enthusiastic. [/quote]
