It takes a long time to build up a roster of regular clients and until you do, you will make very little. It used to be easier to get work on the basis of a strong portfolio, but now there are too many writers on the market and it's entirely about contacts. If I were not already established, I think it would be very hard for me to break into this work at this point. My two biggest clients are orgs I used to work for full time. [/quote]
