This happens regularly, most the people I know who do this don’t post asking about it because they know that their kid is already ahead in math so making up the missing work is easy. We have friends who go to India, Singapore, Japan, and Korea for extended trips to see family. The tickets are less expensive and the weather is a lot better. Our friends who went to Japan for most of the summer came back talking about how hot and miserable it was but they don’t want to pull their kids from school for the extended trip.
