Because at some point Yahoo are going to go out of business and [b]you’re going to lose everything[/b]. Yahoo is  mainly free email and sports and news. They have stagnated as a company and havelost a lot of market share to Google and Facebook, both of whom are growing with the times  - think YouTube, Google fiber, tv, and instagram, meta quest. gen Z send a lot more messages than email.

I understand you want to be defensive of your choice. But you sound like someone bragging that they’ve had the same  land phone number for 25 years. :) it’s okay to get a cell phone. No one will judge you.

Most don't have a backup of their cloud data. You can request a data dump from Google. Not sure Yahoo offers that.[/quote]
