I heard earlier this morning it was a medical emergency. It was the wave pool and he didn’t drown. Having said that, some of you have a high bar. I don’t like amusement parks but six flags and Hershey are not dumps. Went to both last year and both were very clean and well run. Lifeguards were on point scanning constantly.
Six Flags was shockingly dumpy when we went. Especially after having just gone to Hershey. It's been hollowed out by PE overlords who just need to cut costs to help service the debt.
Define dumpy? Nothing was old or run down. Park was clean, water was clean, staff were helpful. It’s too expensive buf tbat doesnt make it dumpy
Half the rides were shut, there was trash everywhere and all of the booths were understaffed. It was shocking. Also, this isn't a debate, it's not a secret that the Six Flags chain is heavily burdened with debt and the management is focused on cutting costs. Maybe you went on a good day.
What?
They've got $5b in debt and the CEO has talked about how much he is cutting staffing (10 percent across the baord this year alone). Maybe you had a good experience, but they're down on staff and that means down on maintenance and upkeep.
No one is debating you. You think what you want. Call it a dump, someone else doesn't agree with you. Nothing you can do about that, not even after declaring "this isn't a debate".
It's objectively not as nice as it was, or as nice as other amusement parks like Hershey and Disney properties. There. That's it. You may enjoy it, but it's gone downhill and does not compare favorably.
