It’s extremely common for kids’ grades to slip when their parents are getting divorced. It’s a lot for a kid to handle, no matter how well the parents are managing things. This is also exactly what the “additional info” section is for - a sentence or two that parents were getting divorced during freshman year and that impacted focus is fine, especially with excellent grades since then.
