I remember 2015-2016 well- my kids did a lot of outdoor soccer camps where the studs in their cleats melted on the turf because it was 101 (w/ feel like temps of 117 degrees). It’s why we always go to Maine or San Diego for summer vacations. Mid Atlantic and south way too hot. I have despised DC summers my entire adult life - as a kid/teen it didn’t bother me.
