Hi OP Here, Thank you everyone for responding to my post! Yes I definitely need to get my life together, this was a great wake-up call for that! I should have left my house in time so I wouldn’t have felt in such a rush to chance the illegal U-turn. I also should not have procrastinated getting my emission test done - - I guess the longer I put it off, the easier it became to put it off more. *sigh* I was just surprised the officer impounded my vehicle > I expected tickets but not losing my car. Luckily I was able to retrieve it from the tow yard to get it properly smog checked. No, this was my first ticket, I have never even had a parking ticket. And it happened in CA = Southern to be exact!
Are you having fun trolling? Vehicles can’t be impounded in CA unless registration is expired for more than 6 months.
OP Here Again, No I am definitely not a troll (though I wish I was….!! Or my pocketbook may wish I was!) It cost me $633 to get my car out of the tow yard. I got a permit from the worker at the impound lot, it let me get my car out but I had to register my vehicle and test the emissions or I would face a stiffer penalty. I didn’t know in CA a car couldn’t be impounded unless 6+mos. expired!? If this is true PP, then I may be entitled to a refund though I doubt I would actually receive a dime back. :(
