The units literally are not allowed to appreciate more than inflation (for 30 years) and this effectively limits the financial/wealth accumulation benefits of homeownership. Even if held on to the MPDU for 30 years when MOCO finally allows you to sell it at the market rate, they take 50% of your gains in excess of the inflation adjusted price you purchase it at. The MPDU effort to make housing affordable is actually preventing low income households from building wealth for their family. [/quote]
