So many rich women on this forum.
Are there any local hospitals that have shared rooms in 2025? None of the dc ones I know ( gw, medstar, georgetown, sibley) do
They do for the illegal alien moms.
What are you talking about
Illegal alien women in labor cannot, by law, be turned away from a hospital. However, illegal aliens do not have insurance, don’t qualify for Medicare, and they do not have the $40,000 to pay the hospital back for the delivery costs. Essentially: society provides these women free medical care. It’s only fair to make them at least share a room, since the hospital has to eat all the other delivery costs.
Yet this doesn't happen locally and most people on Medicare are 65+, not making babies...
Are you joking? The DMV is among the top 5 destination areas for illegal aliens entering the U.S. over our southern border. Illegal aliens give birth in our area all the time and each one of them receives $40,000 in medical / delivery services, but pay ZERO.
Shared rooms don't happen locally and you still don't know what Medicare is. I'm sorry immigrants receiving healthcare is so upsetting to you.
Question for you: - does someone have to fund / pay for Medicare? Or is it somehow, magically, just “free money” ?
Yes our tax dollars happily fund health care for the elderly... do you still not know the difference between Medicare and medicaid? And what does this have to do with shared postpartum rooms? Frankly find that way more horrifying than people having health care during l& d given how easy it is to die during labor without qualified medical care
This is an expectant mom’s thread; you are the one making up straw men to dodge the issue: - women illegally sneak into our country over the southern border; they are entitled to $40,000 in delivery care for every child they have (plus they are entitled to WIC). You actually pay the $40,000 btw. Are they entitled to a private, free recovery room too?
Huh this thread is about private recovery rooms, not your judgmental opinion about undocumented immigrants.
