All they can ask is 1. is this dog a service animal required due to a disability? and 2. what task is it trained to perform? And people can lie and there's nothing else they can do. The restaurants can't do anything unless the dog starts causing a disruption because yes, restaurants and stores can ask service animals to leave who are being disruptive.  [/quote]
