My child chose to go in the other direction and is at University of Sydney. One of many reasons was that the degree requires only three years.

He will actually cover more material in his field of study in three years because his degree does not have crazy broad graduation requirements in the liberal arts tradition. He will receive a Bachelor of Commerce, and is currently deciding between Business Analytics and Finance.

He has the option of spending a semester at Northwestern, which would help with his return to the US eventually. The commerce majors at U Melbourne are lucky, too. They exchange with Wharton. But Sydney is by far more fun for the lifestyle if you are young.

Both Sydney and Melbourne would be loads of fun. Incredible vibrant cities. I did a B.Com at University of Queensland in Brisbane many moons ago. Different place now. [/quote]
