This is a ridiculous response. The reality is that many children, especially middle and high school age, are on screens 24-7, and this is why all electronics should be banned in school. They should only be sparingly allowed at the teacher’s discretion. I teach HS and cheating using AI is rampant. Also, kids are coming to HS with extremely low reading and writing skills. Just the other day, I had my students read a short informational text, and several students flipped out and said that 3-4 paragraphs is too much reading for them and they need ChatGPT to summarize the main points. These are 11th graders [/quote]
