7 from California hmmmm 🤔 Only 1 from Georgia, which is surprising. With US Soccer relocation to GA, there was a lot of kids from GA sent to the regional camps. I'd expect more from GA in the future. But yes, 7 from CA? Wow, talk about an influence. Aside from great year round playing conditions, what else are they doing that no one else is?
Isn’t this obvious? A bribe. All of FIFA (and I would include US side) are open to cash money….particularly the amount Cali can offer). This side of sport needs its Varsity Blues.)
I'd love to cry and yell foul as well but I've followed ECNL girls for the last 2 years because that's when my daughter started U13. Just look at the teams who are playing for the national championships. CA is definitely doing something the rest of the country isn't. I'm not saying just 1 team from CA. When you look at the top 8 of an age group, they have 3 of the final 4 or 5 of the final 8 for an age group. They're doing something out there which DMV isn't. Don't tell me CA parents have more money than DMV. I don't buy that argument. How does one buy a national championship?
CA has more people and soccer is more popular there. It attracts the best players, best coaches, which makes the teams better, which attracts more players and coaches. It also attracts money, to build nice facilities, host tournaments and the weather doesn’t hurt. It’s hard to comprehend sometimes just how much population and money is concentrated in southern california. It’s not like other areas.
Yeah. Every 2 miles there’s another sports park full of soccer fields- and they can all be used year round. It’s stunning when you see how much easier it is to be a serious soccer player there.
