We are currently #3 on a waitlist for entering in 1st grade, after not getting in last year. Does anyone have any experience with how many -- if any -- kids get off the waitlist who are entering in 1st grade? Thank you in advance!
If the child is waitlisted at #7, is it almost as good as getting in? Assuming the waitlist will move once everyone makes their final selection and over the summer. Wondering if I should stick with what we got invited for or stay on the waitlist for what we really want.

That is tough and I think it could go either way. I'm not sure which school it is and if there are 1 or 2 classes, but it really depends on how many seats end up being in play (we know it's at least 2 but it could be more) and who the people are in front of you. Some years there ends up being a spot after school starts, and people are more likely to decline at that point, but other years that doesn't happen. Sorry -- I know that's an awkward limbo to be in. You could try to dig for more info about the school and possibly check with DCCAPS for historical data for the program, although without an immediate decision to make I might give them some time to get through the initial barrage of email I'm sure they're getting now.
Sorry, at least 2 seats unless it's a program with one class.
