Don’t do it. Go get tested. If you have hsv 1 or 2 go for it. If not, don’t knowingly expose yourself to an incurable disease. Sure lots of people have it, but you don’t (assuming your test comes back negative). Protect your health.
OMFG  it's not cancer, or AIDS. It's a cold sore. Worst case scenario, you don't have access to valacyclovir and you have a breakout. It's unsightly and uncomfortable for about a week. More likely, you have insurance that doesn't even charge you for the med, which is available as a generic, you keep it on hand, you feel the little tingle on your lip that means you're about to get a breakout, you pop the valacylovir and don't kiss for a few days. I've had cold sores my whole life. Probably got them from a parent/grandparent as a kid. I don't kiss or go down on people when I'm symptomatic. Zero problems, easy to manage, not at all the "life sentence" this overreacting PP is trying to make them out to be. The level of health ignorance in the US is already astounding, and I can't see it getting better any time soon...
+1 The ignorance in this thread is mind boggling.
