What you presented here is the third best option or maybe you didn’t read OP’s statements. Or, you just don’t know this area very well. OP wants a diverse school she can walk to, easy access to transport to NYC, a grocery store nearby and other amenities. Rosslyn to ballston corridor offers this. DCA is only 2.5 miles and $10 - $15 Uber ride from Rosslyn. So, she doesn’t need to live within a mile of the airport, as apposed to within 2.5 miles and be walking distance to the bus line to NYC and more direct access to the Amtrak. She’s going to be going to New York once a month, her life doesn’t need to revolve around being 1.5 miles closer to an airport at the expense of other conveniences. [/quote]

Grow up--there is life beyond the orange line. Maybe you never leave the Rosslyn to Ballston bubble, because Falls Church is plenty convenient, has many more Asians and thus Asian grocery stores, and plenty of elementary schools within walkable neighborhoods, for example Sleepy Hollow Elementary.[/quote]
Falls Church also is relatively small and has its own government and schools which is going to feel more familiar to someone coming from NY/NJ. However, as someone who goes to NJ every other weekend, Bethesda or Chevy Chase is SO much easier for that and worth a look.[/quote]

Falls Church City is small, but Falls Church encompasses six zip codes and stretches from the Western boundary with Alexandria out to 495/Tysons/McLean.

Not sure Bethesda or Chevy Chase is more convenient unless OP is driving. If flying then look closer to DCA, if Amtrak, then Redline or close in Nova is best.[/quote]
Sorry for not being more specific but when I referred to Falls Church having its own government and schools I thought it would be obvious that I meant Falls Church City and not the various other areas that are just called that.[/quote]
