Whether you believe it true or not, I think it is so much more helpful to tell your teens for years leading up to college applications and college that "it doesn't matter where you go, it matters what you make of it."  I found this kept my kids motivated to get good grades and continue to believe they controlled their future.  Worked out great for our family.[/quote]
