This doesn't make any sense.  If it was only a third of a bag, it wasn't even ready to go to the bin.  You could have just kept using it for the next day or two, then taken it to the bin when it was actually full, and it would sit there for 3-4 days like you probably have trash in your bin for 3-4 days every week.

Also if the idea of food waste like bad fruit unsettles you so deeply that you'd drive across town and break the law to get it away from you, consider joining a compost pickup or something.  [/quote]
