Massachusetts-born lawyer received an email from DHS telling her that she needed to self-deport. Interesting that she's an immigration lawyer and received the notice. She even clarified on her Blue Sky that in the app that DHS used to generate the data for these notices, there was NO option to enter an email address for a lawyer, so it wasn't sent because one of her clients entered her email there.

So, yeah. What if you get one of these in error? Do you have the resources and knowledge to know how to fight it? The burden of proof is now on the person to prove their citizenship. What comes next? Will these people given self-deportation orders be declared dead by the DOGE as they have done with other legal immigrants? Will their bank accounts and SSA accounts be frozen?  [/quote]
