39YO female here. like a PP, i didn't have great luck with eHarmony. I'm 5'8" and live in Fairfax, and it kept finding me guys who said they were 5'8" (which in my experience means they're 5'6") and who lived in Columbia or Annapolis. Which is so far away from where I live that it would be a long-distance relationship. (I tried adjusting the parameters but didn't get better results.) I didn't like not being able to browse the site and pick my own guys based on their answers; having the guys chosen for me didn't work so well. I didn't end up even meeting any of the guys. Match was no more successful; I met a few guys who were nice, but in general they were shorter than they claimed to be, or much older looking than their picture, or in one guy's case, a completely different person from the picture he posted. (and NOT in a good way.) That said, my sister who lives in Minneapolis had very good luck on eharmony and met her husband that way. I think it really varies depending on the market.
Annapolis is not that far. I have a 40 year old son who has the same problems as you all; meeting someone who is genuine. He works in D.C. and would like to find is soul mate. He is 6' tall, good looking, a little on the quiet side, if he does not know you, but he is very intelligent and funny. He loves kids and dogs and is understanding and compassionate. He is not perfect but no one is, he does not gave any of the major flaws like being an alcoholic, aggressive, overbearing or abusive. He makes decent money and is not stingy it selfish. He just has not found the right one yet. It is hard to even know where to go. He kayaks but not as much as he used to. The DC woman he has met were only interested in knowing what he had and could he replace "daddy's bank card" lol. It is sad, how many shallow people. Are out there. Whoever does finally end up with him, is going to be one lucky lady. I was just checking for some ideas about dating sites when I ran into your posts. I guess he is not the only one with these difficulties. He thinks he is!
Mom: I think I went out with your son He is tubby and had no game. Stop thinking about his dating life
