CNU is much smaller and newer. ODU is much larger. Both are spin-outs from W&M. I would hire an engineering graduate from either one. I would not say that either one is conservative politically. Both are pretty liberal just like 99% of US colleges.
How dare you. That's like saying GMU and Mary Washington are "spin outs" from UVA. They are universities in their own right.
DP. Get a grip. It’s factual information, not a diss. ODU: “ Old Dominion University is a public research university in Norfolk, Virginia, United States. Established in 1930 as the two-year Norfolk Division of the College of William & Mary…” CNU: “ Christopher Newport University is a public university in Newport News, Virginia, United States. It was founded in 1960 as Christopher Newport College, an extension school of the College of William and Mary…”
And so were GMU and Mary Washington. But all are universities in their own right.
No one said they weren’t. The thread is about CNU and ODU, not GMU and MW. There are many, many schools that started out as branches of other larger universities. PP was just giving factual background about each of the schools being discussed in this thread, and you seem to have taken great offense. But ok.
