For the record as a parent who will going to watch an Achilles game this weekend as they are one of three teams my son is considering, I would much rather deal with a coach who may have had a temper in the past but has learned to correct it than you parents that jump from one Achilles thread to the next with the same lame @$$ stuff from the past. I find your parenting style abusiveā¦are they really living that rent-free in your head? You are only keeping these soft-as-Charmin parents who have anxiety if their kid is not on the A team away which is perfect. Those of us who prioritize development over wins know the 3-5 clubs in the area that develop players and Achilles is one of them.
you're vouching for a coach you've yet to see?
How exactly did you reach to "vouch" from my process of going to evaluate them for myself. Let me try to rationally explain this for the people in the cheap seats. I have NO OPINION on Achilles coaching except what I will determine based on my independent evaluation of their team and their coaches. Maybe I like what I see, maybe I won't. We'll see. We live in the USA and in a free market. The market will correct itself if they do not produce a product people want. If it is a bad as you say, I doubt they will last 2-3 years going forward and will fold so the market will handle it for you. I despise entitled DMV parents much worse than you despise Achilles. My kid does not care if he is on A, B or C team. Too many Kids and parents are only focused on what team they are not versus putting in the work to get better to move up teams or get on a better one. Kids quit if they don't make "this and that" team. This type of behavior is abhorrent to me. If Achilles or any club don't think my child is not ready, I shake their hands, ask for any specific feedback and then get back in the lab with my child and help them become a better player for the next round. Even if an Achilles coach spits in my face during this process, you won't hear me posting about it over and over on these forums. I would avoid them just like I am looking to avoid entitled parents who are delusional about their kids skills right now. I have no idea whether Achilles will want my child. Even if they do, I have no idea whether we will want them. However, I am prepared to give them an opportunity and this ranting makes them more intriguing because they weed out the parents I would like to get away from. I know this may not be knee-jerk and emotional enough for you DCUM digital thugs but I am targeting the sane, rationale parents who come here to sift between the junk to get some real information to help them and their journey in youth soccer. Stay thirsty my friends... I
Real serious about and knowledgeable soccer parents don't come to dcum for direction and advice
But the Achilles FC troll sure as heck does...
