I've been only getting it every other week for a couple months and holding steady/losing 1-2 lbs. in that time. So while I might not get off it altogether, I think I can slow the dosage down and maintain.
I'm doing the same thing right now after losing over 100 pounds. I don't want to undo any of the positive changes I've made, although I will consider going without the medication if my weight and new habits feel stable. One massive benefit of the medication is removing the need to obsess about diet and exercise, which is something I've never had at any time in my life. In the past, I lost weight by making diet and exercising pretty much the most critical priority in my life, at the expense of everything else. On the medication, I am eating well, exercising, and fully engaged in other areas of life (family, work, social, etc.).
My God, you just articulated how I feel. I'm someone who has always struggled (successfully) to stay slim - but it was a constant inner battle. It consumed me. On this med, it's just almost effortless to eat well and exercise. I doesn't dominate my life, alter my plans, suck up all my energy now. It is life changing.
