MLSN academies have to siphon off a bunch from MLSN pay to play families, MLSN2, etc otherwise they will have to go out of business. The player sales are peanuts as are the pretend solidarity payments. Youth tournaments make multiples more than those. So MLSN has to cater to families, who have school year engrained in our culture as the "default" season for youth sports.[/quote]
