This is tricky.  UVA is ranked higher on USNWR and is more "coveted" in the DC area for those who want to remain in the Mid-Atlantic.  It's a good school and a good price for VA kids.  UGA has more national name recognition and a better alumni network in the south.  It is also a well-respected school and can often cost about the same as VA schools if your kid gets the scholarship that covers half the difference between in and out of state.  The ranking alone isn't enough reason to choose one over the other.  [/quote]
