Bad things happen because of sin and the fact that we live in a broken world. There can still be redemption and something good emerging out of bad, like when someone who has suffered works for change or comes along those also suffering. This doesn't diminish the gravity of the original hurt.
Oh yeah, right. Cancer is our fault. FU.
Not saying the existence of cancer is any individual's fault. Things go wrong in the world. Drought, famine, illness. Humanity has made contributions as well through our negative impact on climate change, reliance on plastics, etc.
BS backpedaling. None of that is caused by "sin".
Sin = world and people not as they were created to be. Reality since the fall of Adam. There will be a new heaven and earth one day. No more tears and suffering.
The observable universe has approx 2 trillion galaxies, and each galaxy has approx 100 billion stars, with an average of roughly 1.6 planets per star. The number of planets estimated to exist ranges in the sextillions (1 followed by 21 zeroes). The universe is almost 14 billion years old. There are potentially tens of thousands if not millions of other species that have probably existed and vanished by the time the light from their stars has made its way to our planet, including the chance for other intelligent life forms. You really think that god would care about our third rock from our star? Why would humanity matter? Hint - it doesn't. Humans aren't special. You're not special despite years of brainwashing by your church that your life has a purpose and meaning. Stop believing in myths.
+1. It's concerning, and should be studied and understood, how these bizarre ideas can become so deeply entrenched in someone's brain so that they cannot conceive of anything else being true, and engage in extreme acts of mind-bending in order to make the narrative "make sense" to themselves. I think by understanding it fully is the only way we will ever stop it from continuing.
