[/quote]  I'm not the person you quoted but that poster is correct.  There are many reasons dogs growl.  My poodle growls when we play tug of war with him.  He used to attention growl;  (he would sit next to me and stare and growl).  I trained him to stop growling at me, so now he just sits and gives me the death stare. lol    A dog will also growl if he is in pain or resource guarding.   [/quote]
