Yeah no. Frankly a bunch of self satisfied in-the-bubble elite progressives sucking up money at NGO’s enabled all the right wing bullshittery we are currently enduring. The smug aholes that got us into this, aren’t the ones to get us out. No thank you.
+1 If a Democratic Project 2028 simply means to totally reverse ALL of Trump's EOs (they aren't all bad...perhaps just badly implemented)..then no, absolutely not in favor. There needs to be less extremism from both sides...that's what landed us in this mess to begin with. There needs to be a clean slate - stop with the blame game. Just look forward and put forth a new "best in breed" Project 2028 -- meaning take a look at Trump's EOs without bias - the EOs that a majority of the country fundamentally favor (and voted for or even support even though they voted for Harris) and incorporate them into Project 2028 with perhaps a modified plan of execution/implementation. I voted for Harris and can't stand Trump, but I fundamentally support the idea of many of his EOs even though I may disagree with how they are being implemented.
I am interested in your view. I respect any "never Trumper" and have friends and family memeber who are Republicans/Independents with whom I regularly dialogue. I also agree that "simply reverse" is not going to work for a lot of different reasons. I get that you know the implementation is wrong - but can you share which EOs you agree with? Also, can you comment on the Left's "extremist" views that people say alienated voters in the middle? Full disclosure, I personally lean toward Democratic Socialism but I see so little support for this position within the party that I can't see it as alienating the center? But aren't centrists appalled by the idea of provatizing the government?
Wow - you are impressing me with your open dialogue! It's refreshing. Thanks. Full disclosure, I personally lean toward Republican Conservative but am more moderate on many issues. I think Trump's biggest mistake was overturning Roe v. Wade. A sampling of the EOs I support (in full or partially) - some in principle only (just not in the way they are being executed/implemented): Expanding Access to In Vitro Fertilization https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2025/02/24/2025-03064/expanding-access-to-in-vitro-fertilization Making America Healthy Again by Empowering Patients With Clear, Accurate, and Actionable Healthcare Pricing Information *Rather than copy/paste the link to each EO, see below general source link. Making America Healthy Again by Empowering Patients With Clear, Accurate, and Actionable Healthcare Pricing Information Addressing Egregious Actions of the Republic of South Africa Eradicating Anti-Christian Bias Keeping Men Out of Women's Sports Defending Women From Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government Celebrating America's 250th Birthday Additional Measures To Combat Anti-Semitism Ending Illegal Discrimination and Restoring Merit-Based Opportunity Ending Radical and Wasteful Government DEI Programs and Preferencing Designating Cartels and Other Organizations as Foreign Terrorist Organizations and Specially Designated Global Terrorists Reevaluating and Realigning United States Foreign Aid Restoring the Death Penalty and Protecting Public Safety Restoring Freedom of Speech and Ending Federal Censorship Source: https://www.federalregister.gov/presidential-documents/executive-orders/donald-trump/2025 Remember what I said....I support these and other EOs "in principle" and some only partially and not necessarily in the implementation of them. If we had an honest debate on each of these EOs -- working to support what a majority of the country supports in principle -- that's what a Project 2028 should look like IMHO. You can't cater to either extreme and expect to win the middle. Project 2028 needs to speak to those who decided to vote 3rd party and those who decided not to vote at all. It also needs to speak to those like me who voted for Harris as an anti-Trump voter, but who deep down (while disgusted with how several of the EOs are being implemented) do support many of the EOs in principle. Not listed above, but I have supported English being the standard language for decades - long before Trump addressed it. Yes, we are a nation founded by immigrants...BUT everyone should be forced to learn the main language - full stop. And while there is constant confusion - the conflating of gender identity and sex gender - you are indeed only M or F - with the extremely rare other/intersex. Not to be confused/conflated with gender identity ideology. I do think we should compromise here though as I do fully support the rights of LGBTQ+ -- compromise being that you should list both sex and gender identity on IDs then. Sex being the biological/scientific sex assigned at birth (M/F being the standard and norm) and Gender Identity being optional/whatever you decide later in life (Trans, Non-Binary, etc.). I'm not an extremist and I hate hypocrisy. I don't do marches or protests. Unless you count not buying an iPhone or any Apple products because I don't like the Apple monopoly. I believe in the power of voting which is honestly the only thing that made me want to vote. I wish many more issues where on the ballot for voting. I'd love to have the majority of the country vote on key issues that never seem to appear on the ballot.
