So, let's cut MCPS School Psychologists and Counselors too. Their job description is similar. And it's not education related right? They don't teach.

So now the kid with a 504 for anxiety can no longer show up to their counselor in the middle of the day to cry about something. It's not MCPS' job.

Don't just cut services that serve immigrant populations. If you are saying MCPS doesn't have to provide wrap-around services, then make it apply to everyone.

So you're saying we can't have any counselors that serve all students (including immigrants) because we are funding 14 instead of 26 therapeutic counselors specifically for newly arrived EMLs? Do you hear yourself?[/quote]
